Memo to Texas HS officials: Find the pivot foot. Not EVERYTHING is a travel!

Memo to you, three officials on one game do not represent an entire state.

The number of traveling violations called in this game surpassed the total # called in the other 49 states this season.....

Maybe drofficial was working the game.

Considering how wrong twocents has been on other issues lately, I would guess that the 3 officials did a fine job on this game. :cool:

Odd. I saw ONE travel that I thought they shouldn't call.

So in other words, the treams did not have good control of their pivot feet and the officials were simply acknowledging this fact?

of the NINE traveling calls whistled when I was watching (and I didn't watch the whole game!).....one was a perfectly executed shot fake by a De Soto HS kid (who is going to Duke) and on another, the official actually blew his whistle and signalled travel BEFORE the kid traveled.....(not to mention the De Soto HS post player who used two pivot feet to escape a trap just above the top of the key that WASN'T called)....

It was equal parts: poorly played and below average officiating on footwork plays.

Officials, like players, have weak areas. Some officials are poor at verticality; some are poor at game management situations; and ALL THREE of these officials are poor at finding the pivot foot.
