If you're admitting you fouled someone, raise your arm. :D

NBA: I have a blocking foul. IMO, the defender is still sliding into the path (lateral movement) after the offensive player has started his upward motion with the ball.

I know you're right in tune with NBA definition. Is "upward motion" motion one of them? If so, what does it mean?

Upward motion means his upward motion with the ball. The defender must have a legal position before the offensive player starts upward with the ball to shoot or pass. This is different than NCAA/HS in which he has to be there before the player is airborne.

Thanks.

I'll also say that from T's standpoint, it might be a tough call even in HS/NCAA rules. the defneder has his feet set before the offensive player goes airborne, but is still straightening his body after the plyer goes airborne. If you see that motion, you might be fooled into calling a block.

Agree.

In any game I'll ever officiate, this is a PC foul.

Agree.

Even is HS, this could be a block as he didn't get his torso into the path of the shooter until the shooter had left the floor. Sure, the feet were down, but the is not the only requirement. From most angles, this looks like a PC foul but from the 3rd angle right under the basket (25 seconds into the video), you can see his body shifting in after the shooter is up and the contact is still, at that point, a long way off-center...more of shoulder to shoulder...which tells me he wasn't in the path.

Me thinks that Ronnie Garretsons' "new 'do" has somehow caused him to start making incorrect calls out of his area........This was Leads call all the way....and the Lead got it right!

Only thing I'll agree is that this is the lead's call.
