Video - World Peace - Whack!

Let's go to the table and see what we have......

Metta World Peace hits Jeremy Lin after foul

Agree w/ T? Disagree?

NFHS rules - With the POE's this yr, do you have an INT on Lin on the initial foul?

JugglingReferee Mon Nov 19, 2012 11:53am

Agree with a T in the NBA.

NFHS - possibly, the hold around the waist is not playing the ball.

Boy MWP has a lot of "inadvertent" elbows, at least his career has been full of discussion material for officials!

Rocket fan here, and I DON'T have a T here.

I wonder if maybe his reputation played a part in it? It does seem like after his arm begins falling it gains some extra velocity as it goes backwards.

I bet it did. And so it should, imho.

MD Longhorn Mon Nov 19, 2012 02:15pm

Perhaps. Seeing it live, I thought he was simply losing his balance. In replay, that may still be the case, but additionally it seems Lin spins him around. I don't know. COULD have been intentional, but it doesn't seem definite enough to T him up for.

That's an IF with or without the POE.

Wait. Don't we have to decide if his arms are stationary, or not? And don't we have to define stationary?
