Does the fact that "faking being fouled" is in conjunction with the free throw wording tell us the intent has to do with free throws specifically?

So the en vogue thing for PGs now is to throw their head back when their defender makes contact with them while dribbling. See it all of the time even though there is no foul.

I would say no ... the potential "faking" T is usually considered to be the play where the defender is attempting to draw a PC/charging foul but flops (no contact) instead. Although, if egregious enough, I guess it could apply in other situations as well.
