Michigan State-UConn
Did anybody notice the uniforms that Michigan State was wearing tonight in the Armed Forces Game at Ramstein Airforce Base?
Junior and I were watching the game at Appplebee's tonight while the family and I were celebrating the birthday of a certain bald old geezer. And we don't think MSU's jersies were legal per NFHS and NCAA rules. Let the discussion begin. MTD, Sr. |
There was so much going on with them I didn't really try to look. What in particular?
|
Both teams were wearing 'camo' uniforms in recognition of and in respect to the troops.
Same as last year's game that they played on the aircraft carrier in San Diego. |
Once I got past looking at BOTH uniforms, I noticed how the officiating crew of Jim Burr, Pat Driscoll, and Tim Clougherty were suffering from "jet lag" or "1st-game-of-the-year-itis".....NOT a good training video for John Adams to use for officials across the country.

Could Michigan State have requested a waiver to wear the camouflage uniforms?

NCAA waiver.
That's a long way to go for one game. Hope the troops enjoyed it! |
Jim Burr back for his 82nd season. Can't move.

Similar uniforms were worn in at least one of the other "military" games played yesterday and similar comments were made (iirc) when the uniforms were worn last year.
Perhaps more surprising to me is that it looked like one of the teams chose not to wear the camo-style uniforms. |
