In keeping with thread theme, we would've had sand in our shoes had they not cleaned up after this one:
Local school district with very successful basketball program passed a millage that allowed them to refinish their gym floor. Drab-colored accumulations of finishes applied since '73 or so resulted in a dingy, yellowish/brownish, depressingly gloomy color. Sanding process yielded the natural wood hidden layers and layers below.
Dropped by to see it the other day. Looks like a nice, newly installed floor, bright and exciting now.
New bleachers helped.
Now, if they only would have gotten rid of the hockey-style scoreboard hanging from midcourt, the rehab would have been complete. Makes it difficult-to-impossible for last second shot monitoring by trail in two-person.
At least it will have the feel of a grand spanking new gym floor for a while to come.

I'm convinced you all need to follow Snaqwells and take up football to keep you occupied in the fall.

I actually work soccer in the fall, but since I don't know any of the rules, I don't go to their threads........ I am just here to help BM get to 10, 000 posts.

Maybe we will have a few fall leagues starting up soon were we can talk plays......

Actually if you wanna talk classics. I was an extra in St. Elmo's Fire back in the mid 80's. Not because of my stunning good looks though........

Is that when I become an esteemed member? Do I get a "Fashion Police" badge, and a secret decoder ring?

Did some calculating and came to the algebraic conclusion that, at my current rate of posting, it will take me 53.69 years to reach 10,000 posts. 106.44 years to reach Snaqs.
Might be able to achieve the former figure if I keep trying and if medical advances pick up the pace. The latter might be a little difficult.

No problem. Mark Padgett will let you use his new pig's heart after he's through with it. It's only gently used. He only uses it to go to the synagogue on Saturdays.

Fab 5 Freddy -

Nobody said your posts had to be of any intellect....if you made 4 random posts a day @ 365 days, that would be roughly 1,460 posts a year. Multiply that times 20 years ?????????

Break down BM's posts, how many of them are really endorsed by the likes of Dallas Shirley or Oswald Tower ????? More like John Candy or Bill Murray.......

Probably none. I believe that they're both dead.

We actually used a scoreboard like this, over thirty years ago, in one of our schools. After they finally got a modern scoreboard, they left the old one hanging in a corner, for nostalgia reasons, until they finally took the antique down a few years ago. Too bad.
