Got these for this upcoming year.
UPDATE!
With the help of a Sharpie Opaque Paint Pen (oil-based), I made the Nike Air Max 2012s look sharp. You should burn them. They are part of the evil empire.

The Air Max is a superb shoe. A bit pricey but an all around excellent shoe to officiate in. I have all the versions dating back to 2009. I bought the version you have at the end of the season and have used them in summer leagues and at camp. Instead of a sharpie to black out the white swoosh and the white bottom border, I used an opaque point marker made by Elmers (yes the milk people). I bought it at a hobby shop in the art & paint supply department. It works 100% better than a sharpie. Completely and I mean completely covers the white with a nice dark fiinish. When I was done you could not tell where I started coloring and what was originally black. I highly recommend you try it instead of the sharpie. Let us all know if you decide to try it and how it worked out for you.

Thanks for the tip mikeref.

I like the shoes, just not the mesh part for officiating. I like suede or leather. I have the Air Max 2011s for everyday wear and I love them. Might turn them into base shoes for baseball eventually.

Their shoes have never worked for me so I used a social metaphor to equate what the shoes mean to me. And sorry to say, you missed my joke. Как жаль. Oh, yes the Yankees are the original evil sports empire. ;) |

So you can backtrack now and blame me for "not getting it" but that's not what you originally meant. Nice debating skills, though. Moving on... |

I agree with you on one thing - "moving-on time" Where is Mr Bob when we need him most? The good that Nike (THE COMPANY) does for the state of Oregon is fantastic - as noted by Mr Mark. I wear Nike non-shoe gear. I just will not wear shoes made by Nike. |
I understood "evil empire" as a joke equating them with the Yankees or ESPN.

I am just a little miffed why you care what someone thinks of a company. It is not like Nike is doing things for the betterment of the larger society. They are doing things to make a profit. In some world view that could be considered on some level evil. ;) |

From the outside, the comments in this thread sure seemed like a jab at the company and not how a shoe fit someone. Smitty was certainly not alone in perceiving it that way....and I've never worked for Nike.

My only point is the comment seemed mostly in jest and if it was serious why would you care? I do not like certain companies either, does that make my perception totally wrong? My opinion of any company might be from my personal experiences and that at the end of the day is all that matters to most consumers. Peace |
