Yes. And I worked for the company for 8 years and still have good friends who do. So there ya go. They do plenty for the betterment of many societies, but I wouldn't expect you to know that.

Now this explains the comments. ;)

Peace

From the outside, the comments in this thread sure seemed like a jab at the company and not how a shoe fit someone. Smitty was certainly not alone in perceiving it that way....and I've never worked for Nike.

Thank you. And I'll just leave it at that hopefully. I was not trying to start anything. Lots of people have an inaccurate perception of the company based on media stories that occurred over a dozen years ago.

Perspective comes to mind.

I think you are party right, but who cares what someone thinks about a company? If people have negative feelings about charities, political parties or government organizations, I think they can feel a lot of things about a shoe company.

Yes they do, but is this really worth being up in arms about?

My only point is the comment seemed mostly in jest and if it was serious why would you care? I do not like certain companies either, does that make my perception totally wrong? My opinion of any company might be from my personal experiences and that at the end of the day is all that matters to most consumers.

Peace

I agree, but they seemed clearly more in the "Yankees are evil" vein than the "Drug Cartels are evil".

Who was up in arms about it? I think that's an overreaction. And this being the offseason, it's at least something to talk about. It was brought up. I asked why. The answer was weak. I was just having a conversation. Whoop de do.

This was your response.

Now you do not think that is a little over the top? Just a little.

And I am having a conversation too. No sweat off my back either way. I know why I am having the conversation as well. But you took what was a throw-away comment and made it into an (serious) indictment of a company. Now I have read people say much worse about officiating outlet companies that will remain nameless on this site and I do not recall many people calling someone ignorant for having a different opinion or feeling negatively about their experiences. I like Nike shoes, I wear them a lot. But I know people that do not like them and like other companies. And if I called them evil or any other company, there is nothing you are going to say that will change that fact. ;)

Peace

Honestly, in this context, no.

But why does your opinion trump my opinion? You're saying all that like my opinion is irrelevant.

You may not have been up in arms, but you definitely were showing your ignorance.

Stop being a baby. I did not say my opinion was more important or trumped your opinion. I just found it odd that what was basically a fun comment and explained as such that the place you went was calling someone ignorant. Now I know this place has people get upset about all kinds of things, but really that was something to call someone ignorant for? I found it odd that is all. But then you are going to have to get upset more, because a lot of people do not like Nike for more than just how their shoes fit on their specific feet.

Peace

Are we still having a conversation? Or did you just take this down a few notches? Now I'm just arguing with a fool.

You're the one who called my personal friend of 4 years ignorant b/c he made a joke about some company you worked at for 8 years.

Why does your stance trump mine?
