"Miami Heat forward LeBron James wonders how in the world he could foul out of a playoff game for the first time in his career."
Easy answer: Commit six fouls in a playoff game for the first time in his career. Since he never did it before, I guess that he didn't understand the rule. Maybe he thought the rule for disqualification was different in a playoff game, as opposed to a regular season game. That's certainly understandable. But, you would think that a college graduate, like James, would understand the mathematics involved. Wait a minute? Never mind. |
no player...at any level...has even committed a foul. Ever seen their reaction after you call a foul on someone?

Brodeur has a legitimate case, iirc.
The NBA should go to the 4-man system that I created! A permanent Lead on each end, and two guys in transition. |
JR -
You should get a patent for the 4 man system...... I see a phone call from David Stern and John Adams in your near future !!!!! However that would mean Tim Higgins and Jim Burr in the lead in every BE game, from now to eternity.... |
This is about all I can divine out of the article.

"The King" has fouled out before. He led his H.S. team to state championship as a sophomore and a junior. His team was playing for its 3rd straight state championship when they lost in the title game a LeBron fouled out in that game too. His last three fouls were charges where he used absolutely no basketball sense and just ran over defenders and then couldn't believe he was called for a charge. MTD, Sr. |

Every sports writer who composes this sort of nonsense should be required to let us see his or her copy as they submit it.
There is no functional equivalent of copy editors on the court to make sure everything is perfect before it is seen by the general public. Somehow, I don't think the demand for perfection extends to their own work.. Moreover, said sports writers should be required to tell us what boilerplate 1956 story they used for the annual "officials stink" column, and to tell us who is playing the part of Leo Durocher in this year's edition. |

Knowing the reaction before bedtime is funny, too.

Good thing I didn't see this until today. I may have enough time to work on forgetting it before the nightmares tonight.
