I'm not 100 percent sure if we talked about this play when it happened...if we did, then by all means point us in that direction.

Nah, I can't see calling an F1 on that. The kid from Va Tech tripped over the Maryland player's foot. A foul? Yes.

I can see a FF1 depending on what had gone on with Allen prior to this play. If had been a PITA up to this point and my radar was up then...

But if this had been an uneventful game then I see no problem with a common foul.

+1

Absent any other background info, prob just a common foul.

However the arm bar in the chest at the end of the play looks pretty $h1tty from one camera angle so maybe an F1 if Allen had been a PIA up to that point.

The last view of the play - almost looking over the official's shoulder - is the one that "matters" the most as that is the look he had at the play. From that angle, there really isn't anything to call as an FF1...now maybe if the C had come screaming across the court with some info? But the angle that the official had shows just a common foul.

Personal foul for targeting...oh wait, wrong sport.

I think a common foul is appropriate here considering the defender tripped.

APG, I don't recall this play in the past.

I've got just a common foul because of the feet tangling.

JRutledge Tue May 29, 2012 11:53am

Defender clearly tripped over the right foot of the prone ball handler. Common foul is enough.

Peace

Ball handler is actually supine. (Prone is face down.)

I have a common foul, too.

Cool. Even at my age, I can learn something new by just paying attention.
