Was there a local broadcast?

I can't imagine how Heinsohn sounded on that one. I can't imagine working in New England when they learn the rules from that clown.

Official was right there with eyes on target. Good call.

Had a mom (coaches too) tell me last night.....she had a "bad call" in her game last week with 5 secs left where the REF decided the game on a foul. She advocated swallowing the whistle. I walked away.....

Funny story, a few years ago, early 4th qtr of a close game. One of the coaches comes up to me during a TO, and says "let the players decide this one, right guys?" Last possession with his team down 1 and we have a no-call on a shot with about 4 or 5 seconds left. He was yelling that we decided the game.

I guess it just depends on your perspective

Agree. Interestng view. Maybe someday they'll add a fourth official: lead, trail, center, and overhead.

"And this is what you mean working the refs, he didn't really...eh...uh...."

Love it. Please try and find a way that is not a foul. It'd be a great block on the gridiron.

Wellllllll...according to Colin Cowherd, officials should ref situations, and not be so black and white about things all the time. After all, the world is 94% gray, and this is a call that should not be made in that situation. You never see pass interference called on a hail mary play at the end of a football game, so come on, this should not be called in this situation with a star like KG...

Oops. Sorry - forgot the blue font on the above paragraph. I almost had to pull off the road to puke as I was listening to him. Couldn't get the radio station changed fast enough...

Sheer IDIOCY. I literally won't turn on ESPN radio until 1 pm because of that guy...and his stupidity isn't limited to officiating.

I heard Mke and Mike talking about this on the way to work, and couldn't wait to take a look at the play. They, of course, made it sound like a weak call. While I would agree with the "let it slide" theory if it is a borderline call, you HAVE to call THAT foul. He may have even gotten away with a little body lean, but when he extended the arms to hold the guy, forgetaboutit.

Agreed, I can't stand Cowherd.

I just heard Tim Cowlishaw on "Around the Horn" say that "Normally officials do not want to make that call." OK, do these guys ever have any real conversation with people that actually officiate? So it is not just Cowheard or any particular media person. It is clear they are are dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to anything officiating. All they would have to do really is read this board and they would see many people that actually officiate that feel this should have been called.

Peace

No, but it is certainly expounded a great deal more when he discusses officiating!

First they need 4 on-court officials: a lead on each baseline that lets all plays come to them.

Trust me, we don't. Case in point...

There's plenty more where that came from, too.
