NFHS Rules Changes/POE

Came out today.
Not exactly a huge year for rules changes. :)
We'll appreciate the shining up they did on 4-19-7.
Anybody got any used shirts to donate to your local athletic departments? At least I won't finish an entire game only to realize I've been reporting to the timer the whole time. The Eagle has landed!;)

...

Does this mean they will remove 4-12-2d?

Furthermore . . .

Wait a minute. 4-12-2d never really was in dispute with the rule as it was changed last year, was it?
They do add, "The addition of this parenthetical statement allows all rules affected by the team-control definition change last season to revert to their previous verbiage and brings the rule in line with the interpretations that were released last year."
My assumption is that the "rules affected" throughout the rest of the books will be modified by a subsequent interpretation clarification.
My guess is that they'll add something compatible with the new 4-19-7 under 4-12-3--maybe a "d" there.
Just my guesses. Which, along with five bucks get you a middle school doubleheader you can't get out of on your wedding anniversary.

Several years ago, while officiating a Christmas tournament game in the Hartford Civic Center (now XL Center, home of UCONN mens, and womens basketball, and former home of the NHL Whalers), one of our veteran officials started the game by reporting to the press table, on the opposite side of the court as the scorer's table.

4-12-2d was added so that fouls committed by the throw-in team would be TC fouls. Now that they have actually added verbiage to 4-19-7 to include the throw-in as part of the team control foul there is really no need for 4-12-2d.

Agreed, and they'll probably (based on the accompanying statement) simply revert all the other rules back to the way they were.
