NBA numbers question
I was watching the Nuggets v. Lakers game last night and I had never noticed this before but players are wearing what would be considered illegal numbers under high school rules.
I noticed it when the official went to report a number and they had to do a 1 with one hand then they brought up two hands for the number 6. It looked weird and I didn't like it. So I'm assuming NBA players can wear any number they want? or what's the rule there. |
Cinco De Mayo Came Early This Year ???
And what's with the "Los Lakers" jerseys?

I pictured you more as a 14 or 17 guy. |
It seems like years ago in high school the home team wore even numbers not higher than ending with the digit 4, and the visiting team wore odd numbers not ending higher than the digit 5. I suppose it had something to do with the numbers of fingers on each hand. I guess you couldn't ref if your nickname was Nubsy back in the day:..................:D
I remember in an old yearbook photo before my time, the players wore 11, 22, 33, etc. |

Or even just 123456789. Those would be fun for the official to remember and report! ;) |

Plus, I'm guessing officials would just start reporting the name rather than the number. ;) |
