I got an e-mail from a friend this evening who is headed to a big try-out camp tomorrow. It occurred to me to wonder:

Actors and actresses say, "Break a Leg!" when they mean, "Do a great job, and good luck!"

What's the equivalent greeting in ref-speak?

"Break a whistle."

go Kick It!

LOL I had the last 5 minutes of a game at camp. The camp director was walking by and said hey john - dont screw up.

One of my partners for the week had the championship game in the situation thing. 30 seconds of the 4th quarter shirts and skins skins down by 1 see who can win - both teams in bonus. EVERYONE was watching . The entire camp. Well Steve walks behind my partner - Hey man - everyones watching, dont screw up.

LOL! Ahhh - i dunno

I always say - toss it straight.

Obviously, since you blow through your whistle, you should say "Break Wind".

Don't.....

This is a common saying around here. Especially with Football crews. "Don't F**K up!" This was even said in a feature about officials and a local reporter trying to become an official. ;)

Peace

I like that one... Toss it Straight, Jack!

Except it only applies to one ref on the floor. Still it has a nice ring to it...

Okay, that's good enough for me.
