NBA Top 10 Dunks of the Month- Which players do you think traveled?

I think these are travels:

#10 by Mikael Pietrus. If pause at 0:26, Pietrus establishes his left foot as the pivot. He then lift his left pivot and then returns it to the floor.

#8 by Timmy Duncan. If you pause at 0:45, Duncan establishes his left foot as the pivot. He then lift his left pivot and then returns it to the floor.

#4 by Blake Griffin. Again, if you pause at 1:48, Griffin Duncan establishes his left foot as the pivot. He then lift his left pivot and then returns it to the floor.

Do you think these are traveling violations?

Play 10 is not a travel. Under NBA rules, a player is allowed two steps after he has gathered the ball. The first step occurs when a player steps AFTER they have gathered the ball. The player in this play gathered the ball with his left foot on the floor, stepped with the right foot (step 1) then stepped with the left (step 2)...so this is a legal play. In this case, the right foot is the pivot foot.

Play 8 is not a travel either.

The Blake Griffin play is not a travel either (which was play 4 btw).

Ok. But these plays are not legal under NF, NCAA and FIBA rules. Correct?

Strictly speaking no...they aren't legal under NFHS, NCAA, nor FIBA rules though I'd bet it'd be passed on at the NCAA level. Some of those plays are pretty close as to when did the player gather the ball (in real time).
