Boys JV last night. Team A is sloppy, aggressive and playing with a chip on their shoulder (the coach gave it to them). They were in the double bonus by the end of the first quarter with Team B having only 3 fouls. We had been letting A LOT go by Team A, and Team B just wasn't fouling. Score was very close the whole game, and there was a lot of frustration. With about 30 seconds to go in the second quarter, Team B fouls away from the ball, partner calls, reports, starts to bounce the ball to me to take out of bounds, when table buzzes and announces "One-and-one." Gym is very quiet, and coach A says sarcastically, "What, one and one already!?!?" Brought down the house...

The coach's comment was amusing, but clearly I don't understand what kind of rules you are using. If a team puts their opponents in the double bonus in the first quarter, how could it be only one-and-one with 30 seconds left in the second quarter? Also, it would seem that you would have been going to the line so frequently that you wouldn't need the table to buzz you about shooting free throws.

Reread the post. The coach that was sarcastic was just now getting HIS team to the free throw line. The other team had been at the line the entire game.

Biggie,there is a problem with the way the original post is set up.It says "with about 30 seconds to go in the second quarter,team A fouls....".This should probably be team B fouling instead-to let team A finally shoot the bonus.
