Unusually good sportsmanship with coaches actually coaching their teams. last game was won on a 3 with about 10 seconds left. Both teams used there final timeout before the inbound, and time ran out on the losing team.

Oh, and, shut up!

I had 5 7th grade competitive games yesterday, not one T or even a warning  I was surprised as the week before I had 4th graders, I had to stick a coach & eject 2 parents.
Im convinced that the younger the participants are, the more ignorant the parents are. And yes, some of the parents don't ever mature.

The game in between my two sets had a set of parents who were jawing at the officials. The coach turned around and gave them the stop sign.

Yeah - and every time you call a foul against their kid, they think you're trying to deny him his chance at a D1 scholarship! :(

Did 11 games yesterday. Not one issue with a coach, and quiet parents save for the yahoo who wanted to yell at the young woman who was running the clock during one game when she had the nerve to make an error in a 20 point blow out.

I thought the legs would be like rubber today, but not bad.

My wife says this morning, "Oh you're up. I figured you'd be dead today." Gee honey, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Ask that knucklehead if he is volunteering to come run the clock. That always gets those folks to be quiet.

What do they pay per game in the Northeast?

Actually, I'm curious what they pay for AAU type games in other parts of the country. I'm thinking about taking a date or two per month just to keep me from being rusty in the off-season and a bit fresher when I pick a camp this summer.

Officials fees vary but typically from 30-35 per game.

Oh, don't we wish! In our area, it's 18 per game . . . love of the game, baby, love of the game . . .

Raymond Mon Mar 26, 2012 08:52am

Here the rate is $25 and we see $23.

I don't do officiate for the money, but at $35 a game they'd have people lined up to work the games. Typical I've seen is $20 to $25.
