It looked like like a lot would have hurt him more than others. He did not look very athletic and agile before he got hit by the coach.

Peace

I'm just trying to imagine him keeping up with a high-tempo boys varsity game.

There's a perception that girls games, in general, get weaker officials. I'm not sure that's entirely true, but that perception is out there.

That's a great PC mechanic, from the coach.

Well that is certainly the perception here and often the reality. Of course that does not apply to every single official that works that side, but certainly most accomplished girl's officials do not get to work a lot of high level boy's games.

Peace

This may be true in your area, and I have no doubt that it is. It is not, however, true in all areas. Here, the most accomplished girls' officials probably work more boys' than girls' games, however. They would be easily classified as the most accomplished girls' officials, although their schedule would primarily be the high level boys' games.

I did not say it was true in all areas. But I would find it hard to believe that on some level anyone that cannot run is allowed to work the top levels of boy's basketball without consideration to athleticism or running ability. I know there are always going to be exceptions, but boys are often quicker and faster than girls. And if there is not that consideration, shame on those for trying to be politically correct then what is best for the boys game. Then again you have a lot of areas working 2 Person still at the State Final so nothing surprises me about the things I hear about in other states.

Peace
