Michigan State/Louisville Game (free throws)

I only caught bits and pieces at the end but what happended with about 2:30left in the 2nd half where a louisville player missed a free throw... they went to the scorers table and gave him two more. I know it wasn't a 3p shot and i didn't see a lane violation.

They had the wrong shooter for the first free throw. Since it was correctable at that point, they went to the monitor and got the correct shooter. The first attempt was witht the wrong shooter, so it is wiped off and the game proeceeded with the correct shooter and 2 shots since they were in double bonus.

That was what I gathered at least.

If they had called a charging foul it wouldn't have been a problem. :D

Confusion was caused b/c when A1 & B1 went to the floor A2 was a 1/2 second behind and fell on top of them and the officials lost track of who was who.

But still, IMO, it should have been a charging foul.

Correctable error...corrected

Here's the video. It's long but it shows the whole thing. This is the CORRECT video now!!!

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5YXt9CDzEC4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Two things I noticed:

1. The player who was supposed to shoot - #24 - went right to the line.
2. The player who was sent to the line originally - #10 - had an "I know I shouldn't be here" sort of look on his face before he took his FT.

Hey, that video is only 20 seconds. There's a joke in here somewhere.

You mean at mid court on the pass? I would have liked to seen the push called as well

Awww man! Sorry. I fixed it in the OP.

BNR, if you could take the embed out of your earlier post I'd appreciate it. I'm getting rid of that link.

I very very rarely will comment on judgement calls, but the C missed this one. W1 established a LGP against R1 and then R1 charged (CF charged to R1 and this is a TCF) into him immediately after releasing the ball on a pass to R3. The only explination of which I can think is that the C, because this happened in transition may have been too close to the play and was momentarily screened by another White player.

MTDS, I don't know about the C being screened. I'm trying to judge where he was looking and I think he was focusing on the pass/action ahead and may have been genuinely surprised by the crash. I think that may have contributed to him losing the shooter. He saw two kids down and then reacted to the one who was still there - and slightly injured - when the dust cleared. Again, just my opinion.

If only I could do that on the court :)
