Our board officiates a ladies leauge that uses FIBA rules, as everthing else we do is NF rules, and i can't get a FIBA rule book by the time of the game.

Can anyone sum up the differences between the NF rules and the FIBA rules

Thanks for any Help

Here's the 5 main differences

The FEEBLE lane looks like is was designed by a 3 year old trying to draw a rectangle.

A player may not play under FEEBLE rules if he has any vowels in his name.

In FEEBLE arenas, the score is kept with a metric abacus.

FEEBLE coaches are decended from European howler monkeys.

French based teams don't lose - they surrender.

Gee looks like I've been away for too long - Padge is still attacking us FEEBLE refs and there is no one here to respond :(

How is everyone? I have been very busy - and have pretty much taken 12 months off refereeing, hence not being on the board. But I will try to drop in every now and again, or if anyone specifically wants to say Hi or ask a FEEBLE question email me - [email protected] (please don't spam me!)

G'day from Down Under -

Hey nuuff with dissing the FIBA comp... it is the world comp rules after all .... plus they make sense ...

you guys just like to make things confusing and difficult, and rules that you don't have to know are really rules about rules that then relate to other rules that again may, but only at particular times, be used when those other rules are not, but if you don't know the rules go home!!

FIBA rules are world rules and everyone( but you yanks ;)) play by them ... and understand them ...

backup !!

Respekt to da world community bruvvas :)

An example, please?

Yeah, but us Yanks invented the freakin' game! (With some help from some Canadian guy ;) ). I think we get to say what the "real" rules are.

I think it was the Canadian guy who invented the game, with a little help from the Yanks. ;-)

Oooooo! A little defensive, aren't we? :D

Hey, partner, it's an American game, whether you like it or not. We could give a flip about FIBA. Nobody here plays by there rules, so you'll find little sympathy here.

As far a "being negative," I'm just responding to your buddy, Isaak's post.

That's the point. We don't care that the rest of the world uses those rules. We only use them in the Olympics because we're forced to, not because we like them. The game was invented and developed in the US. FIBA folks took the game and changed the rules. Like it or not, Americans don't care for FIBA rules.

ROMANO Sat Jul 05, 2003 10:19am

is it because the 4 in july you speak like that??
take it easy man...it's look like you are going to kill some fiba members.."Like it or not, Americans don't care for FIBA rules. ..."
like it or not ,you shouldn't speak like that..it's sound bad
