Officials Not Calling Endline Violations in NCAA Tourney – Off the Rim - BDN Maine Blogs

I think I'd be more concerned with all of the typos in the article if I were the author than what officials are or aren't calling.

If they are consistent and told by the assigner to call it that way I don't see a problem. Inconsistency would be a bigger problem IMHO.

He actually conducted the first officiating class I took back in 1976.

The Bangor Daily News is seemingly not concerned with accuracy or readability in their print edition so I don't think blogs would be held to any higher standards.

Nevermind that there was NEVER a "March Madness Tournament of 65 games".

Too harsh? I usually go to Bangor once or twice a year and I love reading the BDN mostly for the corrections column. They have become really good at at publishing "we regret the error" stories.

Actualy there was. The NCAA Men's tournament was 65 teams from 2001-10.

65 teams means 64 games. The two figures were equal only from 1976 (abolition of the regional third-place games) through 1981 (the last year of a national third-place game).

Didn't think it was too harsh. I have no way of judging that.
