NC State vs Georgetown Video

Didn't see this play, but I heard the announcers saying the crew missed a double dribble hardly 30 seconds into the game.

APG, you're our guy.

Holy cow... BIG TIME MISS directly in front of C official! Very obvious, every junior high official would have made that call!

Another missed double dribble....

About 4:40 left in the first half, CJ Leslie for NC State gets a steal and a breakaway. Watch the angle from the end line.

Don't know if any of the three had an angle on it as it was in transition.

A double dribble? Are you serious? You want a video of a double dribble?

Good grief. :p

I just watched it. 100% correct... Double dribble!

Maybe, maybe not. Sometimes we get caught looking in more important places and miss what the junior high officials see when they're ball watching.

+1 :-)

I think that might be funny, but if you see it the C official should have been ball watching.

Charles Barkley says "you just don't make that call at this level". "Great no call"!

Exactly. I've missed illegal dribbles when I've taken my eye off the ball handler for a split second while "on ball" -- likely to watch a screen or something similar near the ball handler. With partners that aren't ball watching, it's just going to get missed.

Why? There was nothing else in the C's area for him to be watching? Even for a split second? Was the dribbler engaged with a defender?

Johnny Ringo Sun Mar 18, 2012 07:38pm

Once you have seen it, tell me if you think it could have easily been missed... That's all I ask.

#1: not only did he double/illegal dribble, but he travelled in between

Sharpshooternes Sun Mar 18, 2012 11:13pm

Yup on both

Yes, there's another match-up in the C's area, and one quick glance at that match-up at the wrong moment is all it would take to miss the DD violation.

As for the 2nd, I don't think any of them could see the second hand touching the ball the way the player was positioned.
