APG, can you get the foul call at 13:45 (roughly) in the second half of the LIU Brooklyn vs Robert Morris game? This hotel doesn't have DVR.

Good block, play on. Angles are everything.

Perhaps a little quick on the trigger there. Tough call for the L to make especially on the run.

rockyroad Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:32am

Seems like all the L can see here is the shooter's back. Not sure how he could have gotten a better look - maybe slowed down and let the play go past him and then trailed it the last few feet down the court? That's tough in those quick steal/transition plays.

As far as the foul call, I would bet that he wants it back after seeing replays. But if most of us were in that position (including me) we would probably have made the same call.

I'm waiting for someone to say that the L can't run well enough so I can post a  or two.

berserkBBK Thu Mar 08, 2012 12:48pm

I think a lot of transition plays like this are called fouls. Our heart is racing from the fastest sprint of the night and our whistle comes to quick! :(
If we have a patient whistle and see the whole play, we can get the play right. I believe his whistle came before the player was even coming down and definitely before he landed.

But it's an exciting play for everyone, including us. Sometimes even the best jump the gun.

No foul; good defense.

They need the 4-man system I invented.

ballgame99 Thu Mar 08, 2012 02:00pm

play on playa.

Raymond Thu Mar 08, 2012 03:57pm

I know by previous calls I've made in the my career that I've been criticized for that I would not have called a foul on this play, I'm positive about that.

A thought......

Would anyone pull up at foul line extended and officiate that play.......

worked with this guy twice this year and he is a good official......

...

Rocky already threw that out there.

If I knew I couldn't beat them to the endline I would have pulled up. However, one thing I will be working on this off-season is my speed to the endline. If I have a headstart on the players I want to beat them down court on fast breaks.

My bad...........hate when I don't read all the posts, makes me look like a fool and that isn't hard to do.....

At My Age, It's All About Anticipation, And Angles ...

Me too. A seventy foot head start.
