VHSL State Evaluation Camp
Anyone here familiar with the VHSL State Evaluation Camp? The VHSL site has a link for it's "teaching" camp but not for this one.
Any info on this is greatly appreciatied. |
Camp is generally invite only and is for purposes of determing if officials are ready to work State games.

VHSL holds 2 camps, one a teaching camp for newer officials and one an evaluation camp to identify officials for future state tournament assignments.
Campers for the evaluation camp have to be recommended by their commissioner. Anyone who has not previously worked in the state tournament is supposed to attend the evaluation camp before they can become eligible. However there are certain individuals whose recommendations carry enough weight that an official can get a state assignment without attending the camp. It is my understanding that once you work in the VHSL state tournament that you are eligible for future state assignments and would not be eligible or required to attend the evaluation camp. This is the 4th year of the evaluation camp, the first one was held in 2009. Who was the observer for your game Saturday? I know you said you would be at Kaplan. (send me a PM) |

As a crew I thought we missed on some small things (switches, ball placement) in the 1st half but thought we got better as the game went on and finished strong. I see your in Midlothian. My folks live there. We probably know each other, I'll send you a PM. |

There are 2 sessions for the eval camp. Last year there were 18 invitees at each session. After several months you will receive a written evaluation and a ranking compared to other campers.
Congrats on your selection. |
