Pregame Conference Comment

Worked a game last weekend with two very good officials from different parts of the State. None of us had ever worked together before, so we had a very thorough pregame conference (game was first round of State tournament and loser went home). Towards the end of the pregame one of my partners made a statement I had never heard before, but will now be a part of my pregame in any game I work. He said:

"Let's call the obvious, the dangerous, and the stupid. If we do that, we will have a great game."

I really like that summary of what we do.

I think this is why my 'T' count was so high this season. Inordinate amount of stupid and dangerous players this season.

I like that as well. I may have to appropriate it.

We have been using that for a while in our association. Of course when applied to MS games the obvious gets dropped!

Congrats on the playoff assignment. I'm just happy to see you're still working basketball! :)

Don't you have something important to do?

Somewhere?

Anywhere?

Only if BNR had initial legal posting position.

(Which I believe he did.)
