hm...i have read and heard everywhere from "real" ballers that you can lift up your pivot foot as long as you pass or shoot before you put it back down. but when people give me crap about my moves, i have no hard evidence to tell them why i am right. does anyone know where i can find this rule on the net or anywhere? thanks

NFHS 4-43 ART. 3 After coming to a stop and establishing a pivot foot: a. The pivot foot may be lifted, but not returned to the floor, before the ball is released on a pass or a try for goal.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NF) does not post their rules on their website. You would have to buy one of their rulebooks either directly from them or from a sporting goods store in your area that carries them. You won't find the 2003-2004 book for a few months, but you might be able to still get a 2002-2003 book.

I think you will find that the travel rule is all the same internationally. You should be able to download pdf file from http://www.fiba.com if you have the time, for free
