I recall reading on this forum and hopefully understood the reasoning.
offensive ball in front court is batted to the back court by the defense,
the official should start a 10 second count as soon as the ball crosses
the mid court line...NFS...is this true?
I used this last night after observing officials and they questioned me.

Yes, it's true. There's TC (after PC), and the ball is in the BC, so all the requirements for a count exist.

Assuming you're talking about when the ball first touches the floor in the BC, rather than when it crosses the plane above the division line, yes.

interesting..guess my thoughts were when the ball crossed the line. so the count starts when the ball touches the floor in the backcourt? Can the team in control call a time out before securing the ball..

Player control.

Play: A1 passes to A2. The coach realizes that the pass will be intercepted for a breakaway layup by B3. So with the ball in the air on its way to A2, the coach requests a timeout.

Have you ever seen this granted?
