Would anyone consider a technical for not reporting to the scorer if the sub comes directly onto the court from the bench? I had this happen a couple of weeks ago. I could see where reporting the DQ to the coach could be interpreted as "beckoning" (cajoling, pleading, etc. ) the player", but isn't the sub still required to report? I didn't asses the T but later the thought crossed my mind.

No. I would direct the player to the table to report properly.

Just like Nevada, if a sub is already there, I ask if the sub reporting is for the DQ'd player.

I wonder why some of my fellow officials do not tell the coach when the player fouls out and the sub is already there?????? Their statement (excuse) is "the sub is in the game, let's go."

I'm not sure, but better safe than sorry on this
I can only think they're trying to speed things up, but that is when we make mistakes.
