I know some time ago, there was some information posted about where to get the patent leather shoes. I can't seem to find that info, and am interested in getting a pair. If I remember correctly, they were running about $80-90. Can anyone help? Thanks.

the only place I know of is http://www.theofficialschoiceinc.com

one thing about the patent leather

I had heard the NCAA now frowns upon these shoes because they 'draw attention away from the game and to the officials and their feet' or something to that effect. I don't know whether this is truth, fiction, or somewhere in between, but a few college officiating friends of mine have mentioned this.

I've not heard that. It could be a regional thing or a personal preference among assignors. But as far as I know, there is no NCAA-wide movement against them. Don't just take my word for it, tho!! Ask somebody important (that means, not ME! ;) ).

Up here in the northeast, we just got an email asking for our opinion on going to the gray shirt. I'll let you know if we make the switch, if anybody cares.

Actually, I think you're right, that it may be a preference here, as opposed to a nationwide NCAA movement. I should have been more clear in my original statements.

I'm in the Midwest.

The gray shirt? I like it, actually.

Make the switch. The shirt seems much lighter and cooler. The only drawback is that it accents those of us that are dietically challenged. :)

Well, anyway..... I'm looking for black patent-leather pants and a black&white striped collarless patent-leather shirt. With matching patent-leather earrings and a patent-leather motorcycle hat, of course. Gonna hang my whistle off a big gold chain too.

Y-M-C-A....

Y-M-C-A....

I don't believe in officials drawing attention to themselves either, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I know we've talked about it before, but since the subject is here...

I've been trying everywhere to find the patent Nike Shox, but all I can find are the regular ones. Help?

Have you tried places like Footlocker.com? It seems to me that was one of the places that was mentioned.

Hey now - if you're going to cross-over between threads you at least have to give a warning first - especially if crossing over from a thread that already has a warning to start with! And if you're going to cross-over, then you need to dress appropriately - see JR's post above!

Lighter and cooler has much more to do with the fabric than the color, does it not? I'm pretty sure you can get stripes in that same lighter and cooler fabric. Now, if I ever find a fabric that addresses the dietetic challenge, I'll post it here

I have never actually met Chuck, but I've always pictured him in that getup. Right down to the gold chain.

Somebody needs to photoshop that squirrel up with patent leather so we can all get a better idea of Chuck's true on-court persona. :D

People - don't let Jurassic fool you here...take a real close look at the second from left in the front row...uh-huh, that's right. JR was the choreographer for this little production. Chuck and I were just in the chorus line...

Look closer. Chuck is the short one.

puma-mall,

Although there are many of us that frequent this site that wear shoes, and even a few that might appreciate persistance in marketing, I think you are targeting the wrong audience. You might find another site to post your ad.

So, shoe...shoe
