When in Rome...

Two-man crew:
Lately, we're being told that on a frontcourt throw-in, on L's sideline, that L should bounce the ball to the thrower, if the spot is below the freethrow line extended. My objection to this, and statement that it isn't in the Officials Manual, were met with a very defensive,"Oh yes it is!"
I'm aware of the NFHS Officials Manual 2.2 C and D. And I'd much rather have L in a position with a play to the basket coming towards him, than to be outside and seeing the play from behind, on a quick pass/play to the basket.

Are any of you guys administering frontcourt sideline throw-ins in this manner?

That's the way I've always done it. If above the free throw line then I move to the Trail.

I've always done it this way, too.

Same. I've always bounced the ball.

Thanks, for the input. We have a training meeting tomorrow, and I wanted some input from some independent, reliable sources.
Thanks, again.

Same here.....bounce up to as high as the FT line. It has been that way for several years.
