Player in book not at game at beginning

Newbie question. If a player shows up late to a game but is in the scorebook is he eligible to play in the game?

The only requirement in the rule book is the player must be in the scorebook 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. There is no requirement that a player be present at the start of the game, so you won't find a reference to it in the rule or case book.

I've often said that if I were a coach, I'd take the school enrollment list and staple it to the scorebook as my "roster" -- just in case I needed someone to play in the game.

As long as your enrollment doesn't exceed 36 students, since there are only 36 possible legal numbers in FED.

Not true. There is no requirement that names be listed in the scorebook ten minutes prior to the game. What the rules book actually says is that the team must supply the official scorer with a team roster at least ten minutes prior to the game.

It's when he shows up late and is NOT in the book and enters the game that there is a problem...
