You weren't given the game, you earned the game (don't tell you're assignor that though :D).
Congratulations. |
Take your time communicating with your table.
Use clear signals. Communicate with your partner(s) during dead ball periods to improve their efficiency. Call the game according to the rules and adjust to level of play. Good luck... |
1.) Enjoy the moment.
2.) Don't forget to breathe. |
Do your job. Officiating your primary hard. Have a good pre-game to be on the same page with partner(s).
Most of all have fun and if a coach gets on you because they do not know you, that is normal just understand that and move on. Peace |
As Ed Hightower used to say...
Be in control of the game without controlling the game.
|
Congrats and good for you! Well deserved I'm sure!
Continue to do the things that brought you there. Relaxe, relaxe, relaxe, and have fun!! |
Congratulations man! I can't give advice on how to handle varsity games, but I can imagine there will be some butterflies. Hopefully your first whistle is an easy OOB call to get the butterflies out.
Have fun with it. |
Go in with the mindset that the higher the quality of the game, in a way, the easier it is to call. Many varsity games are easier to call (and much more pleasant) than jr. high games.
|
Don't suck and keep doing what got you here. Congrats and good luck.
|
Have fun, ask your partners for feedback, and enjoy the experience.
|
Congrads and good luck. Remember to be patient and not to get into a hurry. Let us know how it turned out.
|
Be humble & also act as if you belong.
