Foul during FT attempt

Situation:
A1 at the line, shooting the front end of a 1-and-1 after Team B's 8th team foul. I'm the trail.

Shot goes up, hits the rim, pops up, hits the rim again, goes in. While all this is happening, B1, in the low lane space across from L, fouls A2. My partner calls the foul on B1.

Partner goes to report the foul on B1, and while he's heading to the table, B's coach comes about 5 steps out on to the court and yells "What kind of call is that?" My partner whacks him (it was the last straw of an ABS technical that would've almost certainly come eventually).

Soooooo.... clear the lane spaces. One shot for A1 for the second half of his 1-and-1. Then we shoot a 1-and-1, with the lane cleared, for A2. Then two shots for any Team A member for the Technical foul, and a throw-in for Team A at the division line.

Did we get it right?

Additional question: Assume that B's coach doesn't get whacked... do we shoot A1's second shot with the lane spaces cleared, then occupy them again for A2's free throw(s)?

Yes to both.

what happens if team A fouls team B in this situation (no tech)? Does A finish the 1&1 with the lanes cleared, and then the 1&1 for B is administered on the other end of the court?

Good job jTheUmp, you got it right.

The foul would result in A's first attempt cancelled and then we go shoot Team B's 1&1.

even though the foul happens when the ball is in the air or on the rim?

Why?

Looking at it again, if its after it hits the rim, you would finish the 1&1. Before it hits, you have a FT violation on A2, canceling the FT.

???
A foul is not a free throw violation.

Not necessarily.
B1 could have violated first.
The foul could have occurred with the players within their respective lane spaces.

And if A1 committed a violation prior to the "foul," you'd have either a T or nothing.
