Jump Ball / Technical Question

We have a "Jump Ball" called in the middle of a game. At least two seconds after the whistle, A1 throws B1 (who is still holding on to the ball) over his shoulder and on to the floor. A Technical Foul is called on A1. Free throws are shot and ball is inbounded by Team B. Does the AP Arrow change direction or does the Technical wipe out the AP situation?

What would you do if instead of happening immediately, just as you were about to administer the AP throw-in to B, A1 tells you what he thinks of your family heritage?

The subsequent throw-in is not an AP throw-in so the arrow does not change.

This.

The arrow will only change once an AP throw in is completed. In this case, the AP throw in did not even begin.

...and you have a held ball. Jump balls occur at the beginning of the game and overtime. ;)

Along these same lines, I heard myself yesterday run in on a held ball and tell tell the kids, "jump ball". I never noticed I did that. Another thing to fix.

That's what most of us do here in my little corner of Connecticut. If doing that is wrong, we don't want to be right.
