Iowa/MSU

Iowa coach gets T'd up, presumably for something he said, as seen in the video here

Anyone watch this game? Know how it got to that point?

69-41 tells me all I need to know

I call that a T-SIT, a tactical self-inflicted technical.

Such things are more likely when you're down 28.

Only one T??? Says a lot about Big 10 officials, nothing between their legs. Which is nothing new since the days of Night.

Welpe Tue Jan 10, 2012 11:01pm

Let me guess, you're buddies with Big Jake?

Yeah, I was wondering what the hell was going on with that. Don't even know why the officials were even entertaining anything they were saying.

Welpe Tue Jan 10, 2012 11:19pm

I agree. It's one thing to tolerate bad behavior but to sit there and take it? Don't get that one.

Iowa's coach was whacked on Saturday against Ohio State also.

I went back to Des Moines for Christmas, and Dad and I talked a lot about the Hawkeyes. His main complaint about Fran is his demeanor on the court.

It's embarrassing.

No coach likes to get blown out any time let alone on TV, but this guy needed to be rung up the 2nd time for almost making contact with the official during his reaction to his first T foul.

letemplay Wed Jan 11, 2012 11:07am

Yeah, can't believe he didn't get a second one right there. Also can't believe how many assistants D-1 teams have now. Guess there's so much to do...

They probably got jealous over the amount of assistants the football teams have.

As recruiting becomes more national, especially for the upper tier schools, I'm guessing a lot of these guys are constantly on the road.

I was wondering the same thing. I count 8 "suits" in the freeze frame of APG's post.

This isn't a Big 10 thing, either. Officials at this level tend to give a lot more leeway to the coaches. Then an announcement gets made that they gave him too much rope, but it will keep happening.

It's the same in the ACC, PAC 10, Big East, and the, wait for it, SEC.

PAC 12...and Big 12 doesn't even get a mention, huh? :p

Hey at least basketball officials will T up a coach. I think we're more likely to see a regional zombie outbreak before we see an FBS college football coach get flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Haven't seen that for a while. Makes me feel like an old timer. Speaking of which, I wonder whether JR will show up this season...

Agreed.

JugglingReferee Wed Jan 11, 2012 12:00pm

Nice to see all those coaches on the court with no second T.

What a joke.

letemplay Wed Jan 11, 2012 12:06pm

I gotta laugh at one of the ***-coaches, who I guess can't get a word in with the ref, (who by the way seems to be left by his partners to deal with these idiots) because the other ***-coaches are giving it to him, feels left out, so all he can do is give a wimpy slap on the wrist demonstration--guess that's his 2 cents worth:p

***-coach= assistant coach:) What you can't say *** on here?

I wasn't so sure that T that was given wasn't for the contact, at least in part.

Looks like an undertakers convention.

At first I thought maybe it was the under 12 media timeout since Iowa brought their chairs out, possibly giving all the suits a little more leeway to be on the court. But, then I realized that BTN didn't seem to go to commercial.

They never showed the other end of the floor, so I can't tell if they are shooting FTs or in their chairs too during all this. *shrug*
