Traveling
 
Correct if I'm wrong but it is not a travel when a player is about to fall to ground stops the fall with her hand. No travel?

Did the pivot foot move? If so, then yes. If not, then no. See 4-44-5.

No. But now I ask, you stated did pivot move. If pivot was only lifted, it cannot be a travel until player returns pivot to ground.

Which leads me to can a player legally lift his pivot and just stand there for less than 5 sec if guarded and then pass or shoot?

Well, what part of 4-Travelling would the player be violating?
