2 whistles

NFHS 2 person

Simultaneous whistles. A's ball in their frontcourt. Trail has B foul. Lead has B violation. Players in question are near the endline exiting the lane towards the sideline. What is the best way to resolve this? Didn't like my written explanation, hope the drawing helps

Get with your partner...

...and determine what happened first. If the foul occurred first, the violation is moot. Coincidentally, in these situation, it usually happens that the foul occurred first.

Get together and discuss which one occurred first. Many times this is a foul/travel call. Did the foul make him travel? Did he travel before the foul. Does not matter that whistles were simultaneous. Penalize only which occurred first, unless the foul contact was excessive.

Dandy graphics, phansen. Is there a button to push to animate it? :D
BTW, the illustration got all the dashes pushed all the way to the left, but when using the "Quote" button to reply, it really displays the situation on the floor quite clearly.
Answer: what the others said so far. Which came first when you get together?

You should also be able to wrap the graphics in [CODE] tags...accessible by the # button in the editor. Not perfect but closer than shifting everything left.

You've got a foul and a violation against the defense?

Lead has ball out of bounds last touched by defense.

Unless it's clear and obvious that the foul was first, I'd go with the out of bounds call.
