Stupidity. I guess you aren't suppose to talk to kids about hands out front or pushing in the low post either.

Just another reason I'm glad I live in an IAABO-free world.

I am going to have to agree. IAABO seems from another universe. So glad I do not have to work under that stuff either.

Peace

I learned a lot under IAABO. Sometimes, there was a difference in opinion in various areas, though. Some of the mechanics used in one area under IAABO would definitely not have been used in Maine. One thing that is stressed is to constantly go to camps, seek advice, and to improve one's game. Some of the stuff I do in games down in FL, such as get out-knock it off type of stuff, I learned up north.

You say stupidity. I say enforcement. Either way, you do what you're taught.

I don't see a big deal about whistling a three-seconds violation, or any foul in the low post (providing I watch the play through). But again, I was taught that it's not a big deal. IAABO is my universe (travel and rec league games notwithstanding), so like anywhere else, you adhere to the celestial laws.

I talk a fair amount officiating soccer ("hands DOWN!"... "keeper has it" .... "PLAY ON!!!"), but it helps when you don't have to keep the whistle in your mouth.

Now, that's something that you'll find in any universe!

I work in IAABO land as well, and we are expected to talk them out of the paint. Normally, I say "get out of the lane," and I've never, not once, had a coach complain.

Now, if I'm saying it all game, it's a problem. I think I'll try "keep moving" and see how it works.

But the fact is, in my big square of IAABO land, the practice is expected rather than condemned.

That's the one I use quite a bit. I do it early and don't keep doing it all game. They get the hint 99% of the time.
