Almost got 2 Medias killed with one!

Working a Womens D2 game the other day, and we were in a BIG mismatch, and early in the second half, we blew through the 16:00 Media stoppage with live ball play and came 22 seconds away from getting 2 for the price of one! Any of you else gotten 2 medias for one?

I know I know...I would have had to turn right around and get another on the next dead ball...but it was the premise of having quite a bit of live ball play..

Happened in either an elite eight or final four game in the NCAA men's tournament last year...which is why I hate their timeout format compared to the NBA's.

Happened in the Carolina-Kentucky game earlier this month. They blew through the under 12 and had to take it at 8:13 and then the under 8 at 7:55.

You don't get two for the price of one. You take one, and at the next stoppage take the second.

I was at a Wisconsin game this season where we had medias on two consecutive dead balls. Amazing, as it's been my experience that officials at this level find a cheapie within ten seconds of the TO threshold in order to take that precious media timeout.

If coaches know this, they should just kareem the ball off of B1's (guarding thrower-in A1) leg.

We don't allow coaches to touch the ball. :)

Also, wouldn't you use a sky hook if you're going to Kareem the ball? :D

Umm didn't I state that in the last sentence? I was more referring to the length of live ball play...

At the D2 level this will happen more often than you think. I've had it happen several times per season. It's a pain and everyone hates it in my experience.
