This is a carryover post from officiating.com in which Jerry Baldwin said the answer is wrong to NF test question 4 (part 1). Jerry - I don't know where you got your answer sheet from, but mine says that number 4 (in part 1) is false - and of course, it is false. As to getting the icons to print in your text, they don't come from the "message icon" display. Bradley has programmed "macros" into the board so that if you use certain keyboard tricks, like a colon followed by a close parentheses, it will automatically change into a true smiley face. Same as using a semi-colon to get a winky face. See:
I won't make any comments about Camron, since I may have some games with him, except to say that the guy's knowledge of the rules puts me to shame. |

Thanks Mark, but I want to make sure that I give credit where credit is due! While I have made some modifications to the board, it was purchased. However, the people who do program the Ultimate Bulletin Board do an excellent job.
If you ever have any questions about how to use something on the board please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) located at http://www.ereferee.com/ubb/faq.html. More specifically, to be instructed on how to use the "smilies" go to http://www.ereferee.com/ubb/faq.html#smilies. Enjoy the board. Later, Brad |

Thanks Mark. After we take the rules test that has been mailed to us, we mail it make to the AOA office for grading. If you miss a question the "mark sense" reader puts a little red dash at the edge of the question, which the dumb machine, excuse me, the machine did on question 4 on my answer sheet. As soon as I post this message I'm going to the Athletic Rules Study CD to see if it says incorrect, which it is. I have not seen anything in writing but have been told by our state office that Arkansas will not be using any of the new mechanics for this year and next. So much for the officials manual that I still don't have. Later. Jerry
