That constitutes carrying the ball onto the court.
Violation of 9-2-5.

Case play 9-2-5 is similar to my scenario. But my A1 player did not touch a player or body part to the floor only the ball.Does this have any bearing on the situation.I called violation only to be told later that i missed the call.

Who told you that you missed it?

the R of our crew in the locker room after game,He said the ball on the floor was ok if it had been a hand on the floor then we have a violation.Carried the play to our weekly meeting and was told by association leader that the play was not a violation.

Ask him if a player standing inbounds who leans over and touches the ball to the floor out of bounds is also ok.

Ask him if it's ok for the thrower to bounce it in bounds before passing it in.

That would be either "steps" or "double dribble," same as if he dribbled the ball out-of-bounds during the throw-in, right?
