Women's College Question - Deleware at Princeton
A buddy of mine knows I'm a HS official so he writes me the following note tonight:
"I was at tonight's Delaware at Princeton women's BB game. UD called a 30-second TO with 15:44 remaining in the 2nd half. The PA announcer said that by rule, this would be converted to a full TO. Any idea why? The next dead ball caused the U-16 TO so that wasn't the reason." I have my suspicions, but would like to hear your thoughts before I show my ignorance. Enough info or HTBT? Thanks. |
In games with the 16-12-8-4 media format, the first TO of the second half is converted to a (an additional) media TO.

The first timeout of the 2nd half is charged to the team for however they want it either :30 or :60 seconds since the game is played with media TO's. That timeout because a media timeout in length, i.e. :75 seconds due to the rule.

Thanks!
