Back down memory lane

Lord willing, I will still be able to get up & down the court 10-20 years from now. But I vow not to be the guy who talks about the past ALL NITE LONG!! On opening night, IDGAF what happen in 1984

So, umm... I'm guessing you worked with that guy last night? :D

A double header too. 4 hours of stories, that I heard last year & the year before that.
At least time it wasn't with two 30+ year vets, that can be brutal!!

Ever been around the guy who feels compelled to tell you about every single shot from his golf game?

I had the equivalent last week, boring, drawn out 'stories' on almost every play.

Yawn.

Haven't seen that one yet, at least this guy was talking basketball! Outdated, but basketball nonetheless.

Next time, do this. When he starts to talk, plug your ears with your fingers, close your eyes and chant, "Na na na na na na na na na" over and over.

That's what I do when my wife starts to talk about my household chores. :p

When I was in the military, I once had a Senior Officer (great guy) who would tell the same friggin funny stories (and he was a great story teller) over and over and over again.

Finally, the staff got together and printed out a list of his top 15 most told stories and framed it and gave it to him at a staff call once. We then leaned it against the window in his office for future use.

When he would start to tell a story that was on the list, someone would inevitably point to it and we would all have a good laugh (as we already knew the story) - and our meeting times were reduced significantly.

Seriously!

I feel for ya!

Why do I feel like I'm already this guy? and I've only been working for a total of 3 years?

Next time they start, suggest a conversation topic like, oh, abortion, or Obamacare. Maybe they'll get diverted. :)

That's too bad that he is such a lousy golfer, my stroke by stroke stories are very short, :D.

P.S. Oh yes, I forgot, that was in the gold old days when I didn't need a riding cart to get around the golf course or up and down the basketball court. :D

Reread

You missed the point, equivalent means equal to, and how many golf games have plays??

The guy rehashed every call, situation, coaches comment in excruciating boring detail.
