#6Indiana.at.#16Kentucky -Return To Glory#1

In another forum that I participate in, this play was brought up.

I thought I'd share since video clips are aplenty (thanks APG!).

From December 2002. Former Indiana (current UAB) coach Mike Davis costs his team any shot at a victory by running onto the court in the closing seconds against Kentucky to argue a late-game no call.

Not sure who worked this game but a very good job by the officials of keeping their heads. The primary gives Davis every chance as you can read his lips: "walk away".

Sounds like Michigan State v Iowa State in 2000.

I recall that. I believe that Smith ended up getting picked up by the NBA the next year. I don't think that he works NCAA anymore.

The crew was correct. There was no foul on the drive. Davis thought his player was struck in the head. He wasn't. He later apologized for his tirade during a press conference. I can't remember if he received an additional game suspension or not.

I think the primary did a fantastic job, I think his partners left him on an island. The partner in the shot who is trying to restrain Davis, where is the limit to when he jumps in and gives a technical? Mike Davis probably could have slapped that guy and he wouldn't have done anything.

And when the primary does give the second technical, you can see the grimace on the second referee's face. I think this all has to do with it being the tournament and coming down the stretch of the game, but we can't let coaches act like idiots and we gotta support each other.
