6-4-5

ART. 5 . . . The opportunity to make an alternating-possession throw-in is lost
if the throw-in team violates. If either team fouls during an alternating-possession
throw-in, it does not cause the throw-in team to lose the possession arrow.

I realize A loses the arrow if they violate but...

Am I understanding correctly that if B commits a violation sich as a kicked ball on the throw in - A keeps the throw in but does not lose the arrow due to the kicked ball?

Yes, you are correct.

That is correct...the throw-in now becomes a throw-in for B's violation. A does not lose their arrow because B violated. The next AP throw-in will still go to A.

And you better either check the arrow as soon as the throw-in for the kicking violation is completed, or tell them not to switch it before the throw-in, because the table will probably switch it.
