You reminded me of another task I had during these scrimmages -- starting the clock. Since we went running clock, the U started the halves by starting the clock.

Didn't get paid extra, either. :D

Two games Saturday. New pants, new shoes, new shirt, new jacket. Ready to go.

Is there a difference?

Yes. The middle school game will be a better game. There will be some really good players on the middle school team. There won't be on the high school freshman team, the better players will have been moved up to junior varsity, or varsity.

Maybe in your little corner of the country. But not here. I'll take the F game any day!

Here in FL, we'd have had a running clock for the whole second half. Assuming the winning team had a 35 point lead by then.

It certainly must be a regional thing. Here in Connecticut, especially for some of the smaller school that we service, the better freshman players are usually moved up to the junior varsity, or varsity teams. In many cases there are ninth grade players on the freshman team who have never played organized basketball before, and have little, or no, chance of ever playing on the junior varsity, or varsity team. They eventually either quit, or get cut. This is especially true for girls teams.
