Men's College Mechanics

Community college game tomorrow night and looking to get a crash course on 2011-12 men's mechanics. Its been a few years since I worked a juco game and I've yet to register on the NCAA hub as I will likely only have a handful of community college games this season before really preparing to get into college ball this coming summer.

I will be talking to one of my mentor's tomorrow but was hoping to use some of the officials here as a resource. I know about the mechanics changes and POEs below but am looking for any other info or specifics relative to the difference between HS and men's college mechanics. Any info is appreciated.

Mechanics Changes
1. Lead handles front court throw-ins below free-throw line extended.
2. Trail bounces ball on all sideline throw-ins.

Mechanics Points of Emphasis
1. Closing down on shot attempts as the trail and center.
2. Doubling the lines on sideline coverage.
3. Trail’s responsibilities during free-throws.
4. Rotating effectively as the lead.

You realize these are contradictory, don't you? #2 is false, precisely because of #1.

Remember that after any foul, the calling official goes opposite the table. If the foul is in the frontcourt, going the "other way" with no free throws, and the calling official was the Lead official and already opposite the table, then there is no switch. The Lead goes back and becomes the Trail to administer the throw-in.

I dont see them as contradictory. I read it as the trail bounces on all sideline throw-ins that the trail administers.

Thanks for the info on positioning after reporting.

And that would be correct. But that's not what it actually says. That's all I was pointing out.
