The Other 6 On Court
Found this going through some old notes...
A Former NBA eval told us at a camp some years back that he had 6 On Court Performance Factors in judging an official - which I think really apply to more than the highest levels... 1. Credibility. Were the officials calls believable 2. Knowledge. Does the official understand physical contact guidelines 3. Game management skills (clocks, game distruptors, situation awareness 4. Conflict Resolution ability. Can you defuse 5. Leadership 6. Team Officiating Are there any missing? |

I think game disruptors, or that line of thinking, is old news at this point. "A foul is a foul" is more in line with the game today. In my opinion, "A foul is a foul" reduces variation from official to official, crew to crew and is better for the current game.
