Compression Shorts

Does anyone use compression shorts under your officials pants? Advantages/Disadvantages?

Smitty Mon Oct 24, 2011 07:59am

Yes.

Advantages: Keeps my shirt tucked in tight. Keeps "the package" secure.

Disadvantages: None

Always...

I heard it was - in case you ripped your pants, you still had something black.

I am...more comfortable in them from a "dry-fit" perspective and they add to helping keep your shirt tucked in.

Yes -- and be sure they are black.

I've always worn compression shorts under my pants. Keeps everything in "order" and my shirt stays tucked in.

I've had this happen to me before a few years ago. Man was I glad I had my under armour shorts on then!

The only con I've faced with wearing them is if you do more than 5 games in a day then it can chafe a little bit without some monkey butt powder...

I wear compression pants for the same reason others have stated. Also they must be black and they have basically helped keep my legs warm so I can prevent some minor injuries.

Peace

+1 to keep your legs warm to prvent minor pulls and strains. Some folks like to use full length model versus shorts. I use the shorts myself.

Not at all. This is a good, clinical reason.

Now, if I could just compress the midsection a bit more.

I don't wear the compression shorts, but I do wear black "boxer-briefs" just in case of the ole rip/tear issue. I too tuck my shirt into it.

Of course, if I had the ole ripppppp, I would reach into my bag at break and get out my spare pants. ;)

I always wear compression full length tights under my pants. I find that they keep my legs warm and help me to remain loose during timeouts and especially at half time. The warmth provided by full length compression tights is something that in my opinion helps my legs to stay fresh over a long season.

Agree. Also like the fact that the full length provide support for my calves.

I wear full length compression (running) tights. As mentioned by others, I use it to tuck the shirt and undershirt.
