Let's let the newbies try this one

We've had a couple of threads the past few days regarding throw-ins. Here's another scenario.

A1 to inbound along the endline following a made or awarded basket by team B. A2 also goes OOB along the same endline. Can A1 do any of the following without a violation, as long as it happens within the five second count and A2 is also OOB?

1) hand the ball to A2
2) throw a chest pass to A2
3) throw a bounce pass to A2 with the ball staying OOB on the bounce

Since no one else wants to try, or maybe I am the only newbie lol. My thought is that he can only hand the ball to the other player. If he were able to pass it, coaches would be using this a lot as a "trick play". Again just my thought.

You really must be a newbie. :) There is a trick play in regards throw-ins following a made basket. Check rule 7-5-7.

Dang, was worth a shot lol :o I just moved to a different state, and although I have been working 7th and 8th grade boys and girls games for past 3 years, things are a lot more structured here. Looking forward to learning a lot more.
